what we are about

At Tranquil Hearts Psychology, we understand that big life events can disrupt our journey in creating an enriching and meaningful life. This can then change the way we perceive new events, our relationships with others and the way we view ourselves. We also acknowledge that there may come a time when managing alone may not be the best way forward. Sometimes, finding a safe space to be ourselves can help us manage distress and gain a sense of clarity, making it easier to move along our healing journey.

Tranquil Hearts Psychology is particularly passionate in supporting those who have experienced, or are currently experiencing complex trauma - this may manifest as acute symptoms (such as flashbacks, nightmares and unwanted memories), or impact one’s daily functioning and relationships.

We offer sessions via telehealth (video) in order to make support more accessible to millions of people across Australia. We will also offer bulk-billed sessions via Medicare or eligible Private Health Funds.

It can take a lot of courage to make the step to seek support and we are glad that you are here.

what we offer

Individual Counselling

Individual counselling is an opportunity for you to speak with a psychologist one on one. Taking this step can require courage, so we wholeheartedly aim to provide a safe space for self-exploration and reflection at your own pace, working towards a solution to benefit and empower all.

In Australia, there is an increasing prevalence of mental health challenges affecting our youth and difficulties in accessing support for those aged above 25 years. Combining this with our passion in working with complex trauma, we are currently offering individual counselling sessions to those who meet the following criteria:

  • Individuals aged 18 years and over

  • Telehealth (video) sessions only

  • Available for appointments on Monday or Tuesday (9am-5pm)

If you do not meet this criteria but don’t know where to start your healing journey, feel free to get in touch with us still and we’ll work towards finding a right fit for you.

** Please note that we do not currently provide assessments or medico-legal reports for the purposes of third-party insurance matters or legal issues.

Hi, I’m Jess.

I'm so glad you've found your way here :)

~~~
Jess is a registered psychologist who enjoys connecting with individuals to help them understand and process big life events that are causing them significant stress. She is particularly passionate about supporting clients in overcoming early childhood trauma or trauma-related symptoms, in hopes they can reach their desired level of wellbeing and personal growth.
Jess combines her studies and years of clinical experience to provide trauma-informed care through a range of evidence-based practices, while understanding that one single approach will not work for everyone. Therefore, working collaboratively with each individual is always a focal point in her sessions.
Jess has worked extensively with people of various ages and backgrounds, in both the public and private health sector.  In particular, she has worked with those who have experienced mental health conditions such as longstanding depression, anxiety, trauma-related disorders and substance use/addiction. As a second-gen Asian-Australian practitioner, Jess also understands the impact of cultural diversity and transitional challenges commonly faced by persons of non-Australian background, and works towards promoting inclusion for each individual.
In her spare time, if Jess is not spending time with her little brother, she enjoys winding down with some hands-on creative work (such as crocheting and drawing) while sipping on a (scorching) cup of Oolong tea.
I’m ready to get started!
You are worthy of a safe space.
Welcome to Tranquil Hearts.
